*****FairnessI am a foolish man. You know this obviously because you read my work week in and week out and if you are new here you can simply browse through the archives and come to this same ultimate conclusion. Despite my cautious optimism coupled with being completely naked from the waist down laptop resting warm and comfy upon my upper thighs (hence the combination of the words “lap” and “top”). I was wholly and utterly unsuccessful at landing tickets to any of the World Series games being played here in Denver. For those of you living outside of Colorado. I will attempt to give you a short unbiased overview of how the management of the Rockies fucked me and every other honest Coloradoan out of a shot of seeing our local ball club play in the go classic. The trouble started when the Rockies dragged their heels when putting a plan together regarding ticket distribution for the three games in Denver. While other teams were getting their shit together in September the Rockies’ management was work making their yearly jaunt plans for the month of October. The World Series was the furthest thing from their minds. Then the club went on a tear. Suddenly October would be spent actually playing baseball (gasp!). The organization announced that they would be selling World Series tickets at several locations throughout Colorado as come up as online. People were in advance of this intend because it would provide the locals – the hometown fans the ones who have suffered with the ups and downs and downs and downs of this team – a exceed chance at getting to see at least one of the games. The rest of the Earth (construe: scalpers and fans of the opposing team) would have a chance to buy their tickets online so in essence everyone would win. Then the management changed the rules presumably because some were estimating crowds upwards of thirty-thousand descending upon the Coors handle ticket office. While it would have been utter chaos at least people would undergo felt like they were getting a fair shake. Sometimes the illusion of equality works just as well as the real thing and in the end that might be all that matters. Besides who doesn’t like a good old-fashioned mob scene? Thousands upon thousands of cold fans waiting in line for a precious few tickets – there’s no place I would rather be!Unfortunately the plan was revised and the decision was made to sell all of the tickets online. Needless to say this was wildly unpopular..
